ABSTRACT
Tomato is one of the most significant vegetable crops, which provides several important dietary components. Pakistan has a low tomato yield compared to other countries because genetic diversity and absence improved cultivars. The present study aimed investigate variability, heritability, advance for yield-related traits in tomato. For this purpose, eight parents their 15 crosses or hybrids were evaluated relevant traits. Significant variation was observed all studied Higher values genotypic coefficient variability (GCV) phenotypic (PCV) recorded per plant (YP) (kg) (37.62% 37.79%), as well number fruits cluster (NFRC) (31.52% 31.71%), flowers (24.63 24.67), single fruit weight (g) (23.49 23.53), indicated that selection these would be fruitful. heritability (h2) estimates (NFC) (0.99%), (SFW) (0.99%). Single exhibited higher components variability. High % mean (GAM) coupled with noted (52.58%) (43.91). NFRC SFW had highly correlation YP (kg), while FSPC positive association can selected enhance (kg). Among hybrids, Nagina × Continental, Pakit Roma BSX-935 high-yielding further evaluation analysis. These findings revealed best performing could used seed production develop varieties. tested suitable changing climatic conditions. (g), NFC, ideal selecting hybrids.
