ABSTRACT
Background The current study aimed to evaluate the relationship between neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) combined with interleukin (IL)-6 on admission day and 28-day mortality of septic patients. Material Methods We conducted an observational retrospective study. Patients presumed sepsis were included. observed correlation studied biomarkers (NLR, IL-6, PCT, CRP) severity scores (APACHE II SOFA scores) by plotting scatter plots. relationships evaluated using Cox regression model, receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curve, reclassification analysis. Results A total 264 patients diagnosed enrolled. It was revealed that IL-6 had strongest both APACHE scores, followed NLR there no obvious CRP illness severity. independent predictors in model [NLR, odds 1.281 (95% CI 1.159–1.414), P < 0.001; 1.017 1.005–1.028), =0.004]. area under ROC curve (AUC) NLR, plus (NLR_IL-6) 0.776, 0.849, 0.904, respectively. Conclusion Our showed levels significantly higher deceased sepsis. appeared be Moreover, could dramatically enhance prediction value mortality.
