ABSTRACT
Anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV) is a small vessel affecting multiple organ systems, including the kidney. Besides investigations focusing on renal outcomes, sex differences associated with distinct clinical and histopathological findings in ANCA glomerulonephritis (GN) have not been systematically investigated. Therefore, we here aimed to analyze patients AAV biopsy-proven GN. We provide comprehensive analysis of 53 kidney biopsies GN retrospectively included between 2015 2020 identified specific concerning laboratory parameters systematic scoring histopathology glomerular tubulointerstitial lesions, extrarenal manifestations AAV. did observe any correlation short-term course or disease severity by comparing general parameters. females occurred at an older age more joint involvement. Regarding findings, we, again, observed no difference among classification, but significant less inflammation peritubular capillaries. Finally, fewer associations clusters clinical, parameters, as compared males. These are great relevance further improve our understanding pathogenesis While future studies about conclusions these crucial, observations support that relevant, affect influence AAV, particularly
