ABSTRACT
Background Tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination is recommended to be administered in every pregnancy. Although the safety of this strategy has been confirmed, immunogenicity Tdap two successive pregnancies not yet described. This study investigated Tdap-specific immunity levels and transplacental transfer after repeated Tdap-vaccination. Methods Women enrolled prior studies on during pregnancy were invited participate a follow-up if they became pregnant again. who received vaccine both considered for analysis. total IgG subclasses measured with multiplex immunoassay. Results In total, 27 participants mean interval between deliveries 2.4 years included maternal serum, comparable at whereas cord all antibody reduced second compared first delivery. was largely reflected IgG1 serum. Transplacental ratios also mostly Conclusion reports time subclass pregnancies. We found most antibodies As pertussis-specific wane quickly, each remains beneficial. However, more research needed understand impact closely spaced booster doses early infant protection against pertussis.
