ABSTRACT
Interleukin-21 (IL-21) is an immunostimulatory cytokine which belongs to the common gamma-chain family of cytokines. It plays import role in development, differentiation, proliferation, and activation immune cells, particular T natural killer (NK) cells. Since its discovery 2000, IL-21 has been shown regulate both adaptive responses associates with key antiviral antitumor responses. Recent advances indicate as a promising target for cancer treatment encouraging results were obtained preclinical studies investigated potency alone or combination other therapies, including monoclonal antibodies, checkpoint inhibitory molecules, oncolytic virotherapy, adoptive cell transfer. Furthermore, showed effects patients advanced cancer, minimal side several clinical trials. In present review, we will outline recent progress research, highlighting potential based therapy single agent drugs enhance efficiency.
