ABSTRACT
Chryseobacterium indologenes is a non-glucose-fermenting Gram-negative bacillus. This emerging multidrug resistant opportunistic nosocomial pathogen can cause severe infections in neonates and immunocompromised patients. study aimed to present the first detailed draft genome sequence of multidrug-resistant C. strain isolated from cerebrospinal fluid an infant hospitalized at Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Brazilian Tertiary Hospital. We analyzed susceptibility different antibiotics using VITEK 2 system. The demonstrated outstanding resistance all antibiotic classes tested, including β-lactams, aminoglycosides, glycylcycline, polymyxin. Next, was whole-genome-sequenced, annotated Prokka Rapid Annotation Subsystems Technology (RAST), screened for orthologous groups (EggNOG), gene ontology (GO), genes, virulence mobile genetic elements software tools. contained one circular chromosome 4,836,765 bp with 37.32% GC content. genomic features numerous genes related cellular processes that are essential bacteria. MDR revealed presence corresponded phenotypes, β-lactamases ( bla IND– 13 , CIA– 3 TEM– 116 OXA– 209 VEB– 15 ), quinolone mcb G), tigecycline tet (X6)), encoding efflux pumps which confer aminoglycosides Ran A/ B), colistin Hly D/ Tol C). Amino acid substitutions were observed GyrA (S83Y) GyrB (L425I K473R). A mutation may play role development detected lpxA (G68D). isolate harbored 19 factors, most involved infection pathways. identified Genomic Islands (GIs) some associated integrative conjugative element (ICEs). Other linked (MGEs), such as insertion (ISEIsp1), transposon (Tn5393), integron (In31), also genome. Although plasmids not detected, ColRNAI replicon type singletons unaligned scaffolds. provided wide range information toward understanding diversity contribute controlling evolution dissemination this healthcare settings.
