ABSTRACT
Comamonas kerstersii ( C. ) is a Gram-negative bacterium that was initially thought to be non-pathogenic humans and abundant in the environment. In recent years, with availability of matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-time flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) enable fast accurate bacterial identification, there have been increasing number reports human infections caused by , indicating this organism has emerged as pathogen. fact, most clinical isolates are recovered from peritoneal liquid, bacteremia infrequently reported. Here, we report case 28-year-old male patient acute perforated appendicitis localized peritonitis present comprehensive review pathogenic diagnosis treatment well prognosis, thus providing better understanding -related infections.
