ABSTRACT
Sepsis-associated encephalopathy (SAE) is a critical and common problem in elderly patients with sepsis, which still short of efficient predictive tools. Therefore, this study aims to screen the risk factors establish useful nomogram for SAE sepsis intensive care unit (ICU).Elderly (age ≥ 65 years) were selected from Medical Information Mart Intensive Care (MIMIC)-IV database. Data demographics laboratory examinations collected on first day admission ICU. was defined by two criteria presence sepsis: ① Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score < 15 or ② delirium. Differences tests calculated between non-SAE groups. Participants randomly divided into training set validation without replacement at ratio 6:4. A constructed logistic regression analysis then validated. The capability demonstrated receiver operating characteristic (ROC) calibration curve analysis.A total 22,361 selected, 2,809 (12.7%) died hospital 8,290 (37.1%) had SAE. In-hospital mortality group higher than that (18.8 vs. 8.9%, p 0.001). Based results analysis, integrating age, Na+, Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) score, heart rate, body temperature constructed. area under (AUC) 80.2% 80.9% set. Calibration showed good capacity nomogram.SAE an independent in-hospital unit. has excellent helps clinical practice.
