ABSTRACT
Introduction Tasks involving mental practice, relying on the cognitive rehearsal of physical motors or other activities, have been reported to similar patterns brain activity overt execution. In this study, we introduced a novel imagination task called, acupuncture imagery and aimed investigate neural oscillations during imagery. Methods Healthy volunteers were guided watch video real needling in left right KI3 (Taixi point). The subjects then asked perform tasks keep their thoughts three 1-min states alternately: resting state, KI3, KI3. Another group experienced A 31-channel-electroencephalography was synchronously recorded for each subject. Microstate analyses performed depict dynamics these tasks. Results Compared both could introduce significant changes dynamic oscillations. Moreover, parameters microstate showed as Discussion These results confirm that activation patterns. Needling may change network play role regulation. Further studies are needed explore effects potential application disease recovery.
