ABSTRACT
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the leading causes cancer-related deaths globally. Metastasis associated with a poor prognosis, yet underlying molecular mechanism(s) remained largely unknown. In this study, total 85 CRC patients were included and primary tumor lesions evaluated by next-generation sequencing using targeted panel for genetic aberrations. Patients sub-divided according to their metastasis pattern into non-organ metastases (Non-OM) organ (OM) groups. By comparing differences between two groups, we found that mutations in FBXW7 alterations its downstream NOTCH signaling pathway more common Non-OM group. Moreover, correlation analysis suggested independent other somatic alterations. The negative associations validated cohort 230 TCGA dataset. Thus, speculated genomic / axis might be an indicator metastases.
