ABSTRACT
Purpose The purpose of the present study is to examine factors contributing development eating behavior in overweight and obese children from perspective family system. Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted by using convenience sampling method select 388 participants two primary schools Jiangsu, China. Individual, social-related were collected. Individual included age, gender, ethnicity, single child, social anxiety, depression, physical activity, sleep duration, screen time. Family environment, structure, function, income, parenting style, parental feeding behavior, home food environment marital satisfaction. Social-related place residence, number surrounding restaurants support. Univariate analysis, correlation analysis multivariate used identify among Chinese with obese. Results In this study, took part a 94.865% response rate. univariate significant differences regarding Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire (DEBQ) scores found between aged 6–9 years those >9 years. Correlation indicated that parent's nutrition literacy ( r = 0.118, P < 0.05), pressure eat 0.212, 0.01), perception child weight −0.112, 0.05) function −0.563, 0.01) associated children's behavior. With regard psychosocial factors, anxiety 0.299, depressive symptoms 0.081, positive independent variables initial model father's employment status, maternal punishment harshness, parents' literacy, eat, weight. These final accounted for 20.7% variance. Conclusion We have great effect on who are or As early childhood critical timeline development, should be intervened promote Intervention programs aimed at promoting healthy behaviors children, thereby mitigating risk pediatric obesity, primarily target parents.
