Rutin is a flavanol-type polyphenol that consists of flavanol quercetin and the disaccharide rutinose, which has been reported to exert various biological effects such as antioxidant anti-inflammatory activities. It not clear whether rutin protective effect on sepsis-induced cardiomyopathy (SIC).
