ABSTRACT
Jatropha curcas L. is a non-edible oilseed containing almost 40% of seed oil and famous as the best source raw material for biofuel production. J. seeds contain three main tissues, such inner integument, endosperm, embryo. To understand physiological events related to specific it important perform proteome analysis these tissues. Previously we have explored pattern reserves deposition tissue-specific biological pathways by analyzing integument endosperm organelles, plastids gerontoplasts isolated from The focus present study was proteomic embryo mature curcas. This resulted in identification 564 proteins which 206 are not identified previously any other tissue this plant. were functionally classified using MapMan classification system revealing various involved different functionalities. transport functions those with proteolytic activity determined through Transporter Classification Database (TCDB) MEROPS database, respectively. In addition identify large number participating metabolic processes, found several defense functions, members chaperones ubiquitin-proteasome system. Similarly, legumin vicilin family storage (SSPs) their function, defense. addition, reported that proteases belonging mechanistic classes diverse functions. Last but least, transport-related discussed concerning function transportation nutrients across our knowledge, highest seeds, most essential germination, reflecting fact many required germination already
