ABSTRACT
Tree peony ( Paeonia suffruticosa Andr.) is a popular cut flower among ornamental plants. However, its short vase life severely hinders the production and application of tree flowers. To extend postharvest longevity improve horticultural value, silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) was applied for reducing bacterial proliferation xylem blockage in flowers vitro vivo. Ag-NPs synthesized with leaf extract Eucommia ulmoides characterized. The aqueous solution showed inhibitory activity against populations isolated from stem ends 'Luoyang Hong' vitro. minimum concentration (MIC) 10 mg L-1. Compared control, pretreatments at 5 L-1 24 h increased diameter, relative fresh weight (RFW), water balance Additionally, malondialdehyde (MDA) H2O2 content pretreated petals were lower than control during life. activities superoxide dismutase (SOD) catalase (CAT) that early stage higher late Furthermore, could reduce vessels on by confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM) electron (SEM). Overall, green effectively reduced bacteria-induced peony, resulting improved uptake, extended life, enhanced quality. Therefore, this technique can be used as promising technology industry.
