Indicators of Identity and Psychological Well-Being in Immigrant Population

ABSTRACT
Multiple research has indicated that group identity processes are critical to understanding the dynamics of psychological well-being linked migration. However, few studies have analyzed relationship between from different theoretical perspectives, and mental health migrants in Latin-American context. Therefore, purpose this study was analyze several indicators such as ethnic identity, collective self-esteem, fusion (with country origin host country) simultaneously, dimensions Colombian living Chile. The sample consisted 887 migrants, whom 435 (49%) were men 452 (51%) women. Participants residents cities Arica (n=204; 23%), Antofagasta (n=469; 52.9%), Santiago (n=214; 24.1%) results revealed by structural equation modeling indicate self-esteem show positive relationships with almost all well-being, while Colombia only showed a dimension Chile autonomy. Implications limitations these discussed at end.
