Psychometric Properties of the Grit-S in Chinese Nurses

ABSTRACT
Grit, as a positive psychological trait, could affect the stability of nursing workforce and nurses' physical mental health continuously. The Short Grit Scale (Grit-S) with fewer items than original was widely used to measure individual trait-level grit. However, properties Grit-S among Chinese nurses have not been verified. A self-designed sociodemographic questionnaire investigate 709 in study, Grit-S, Big Five Inventory-44, Brief Self-Control Scale, 10-item Connor-Davidson resilience scale, Task Performance were adopted collect information grit, personality, self-control, resilience, work performance. confirmatory factor analysis, Pearson correlation hierarchical regression multi-group analysis conducted verify psychometric Grit-S. results demonstrated that had sound validity reliability nurse samples good measurement invariance across general hospitals psychiatric hospitals. this study provide confidence using grit future.
