Environmental cooperation system, ESG performance and corporate green innovation: Empirical evidence from China

The Environmental Cooperation System (ECS) is a new exploration of the government’s spatial environmental policy to meet requirements green and sustainable development, so it very important scientifically evaluate its innovation effect. Based on China’s A-share listed companies from 2006 2021, perspective corporate ESG performance, we apply multi-dimensional fixed-effects difference-in-differences (DID) model, empirically test impact, mechanism, heterogeneity Shenzhen-Dongguan-Huizhou Metropolis (ECS-SDHM) innovation. It found that ECS-SDHM can significantly improve innovation, effect more significant in private enterprise group. Secondly, use rating score decomposition indicators deeply analyze mechanism performance. results show enhance by improving governance, social governance. Further research both responsibility executives’ overseas backgrounds positively moderate moderating performance mechanism.
