Six months into the war: a first-wave study of stress, anxiety, and depression among in Ukraine

ABSTRACT
This study examines the prevalence and predictors of mental health issues, specifically anxiety, depression, stress, among Ukrainians during military conflict with Russia.A cross-sectional correlational was conducted six months after beginning conflict. Sociodemographic factors, traumatic experiences, stress were assessed. The included 706 participants, both men women, from different age groups living in various regions Ukraine. data collected August till October 2022.The found that a large portion Ukrainian population shows increased levels due to war. Women be more vulnerable issues than men, younger people resilient. Worsened financial employment statuses predicted anxiety. who fled other countries exhibited higher stress. Direct exposure trauma anxiety while war-related "other stressful events" acute levels.The findings this highlight importance addressing needs affected by ongoing Interventions support should tailored address specific groups, particularly individuals, those worsened statuses.
