ABSTRACT
Background Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) is a much-neglected issue in developing countries, including Ethiopia. Menstruating women and girls are forced into isolation, prevented from movement, dietary restrictions, can be participating daily routine activities. Furthermore, the way almost all previous studies conducted Ethiopia measured practice of MHM did not meet standard definition safe MHM. This study aimed to assess management menstrual hygiene associated factors among female adolescent students public high schools central Methods A mixed-methods approach was employed this study. Systematic random sampling technique used select 846 participants. The collected data were entered through EPI INFO version 7 exported SPSS 23 for cleaning analysis. Bivariate multivariate logistic regression analysis performed identify association between independent variables. Finally, AOR, 95% CI, p -value < 0.05 considered statistically significant. qualitative analyzed by ATLAS.ti order extract main themes categories. Living parents (AOR = 2.51, CI:1.11–5.68), living relatives 7.41, CI:2.55–21.54), having merchant mother 1.81, CI:1.14–2.9), who has private work 4.56, CI:1.31–5.90), farmer father 1.53, CI:1.1–2.31), rural resident 1.61, CI: 1.17–2.21) realizing absence container storing sanitary napkins toilet school latrine 1.44, 1.1–0.94) Findings discussed under four explore barriers management, three emerged as enablers management.
