Perceptions and concerns of emergency medicine practitioners about artificial intelligence in emergency triage management during the pandemic: a national survey-based study

ABSTRACT
Objective There have been continuous discussions over the ethics of using AI in healthcare. We sought to identify ethical issues and viewpoints Turkish emergency care doctors about use during epidemic triage. Materials methods Ten specialists were initially enlisted for this project, their responses open-ended questions surrounding room provided valuable information. A 15-question survey was created based on input refined through a pilot test with 15 specialty doctors. Following that, updated sent via email, social media, private email distribution. Results 167 medicine participated study, an average age 38.22 years 6.79 professional experience. The majority agreed that could benefit patients (54.50%) healthcare professionals (70.06%) department triage pandemics. Regarding responsibility, 63.47% believed shared responsibility between manufacturers/programmers complications. Additionally, 79.04% participants complications applications varies depending nature complication. Concerns privacy expressed by 20.36% regarding deep learning-based applications, while 61.68% anonymity protected privacy. 70.66% systems would be as sensitive humans terms non-discrimination. Conclusion potential advantages deploying programs pandemics providers acknowledged Turkey. Nevertheless, they notable concerns related accountability aspects utilizing context.
