Evaluation of the osteoarthritis disease burden in China from 1990 to 2021: based on the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021

ABSTRACT
Objective This study aims to understand the current status and trend of disease burden osteoarthritis (OA) in people over 30 years old China from 1990 2021 identify priority population groups, provide reference data for prevention treatment OA China. Methods The Global Burden Disease Study was used describe incidence, prevalence, disability-adjusted life (DALYs) adult aged or older by sex age which analyze 2021. joinpoint regression model age-period-cohort were characterize temporal trend. Results In 2021, number prevalence about 152.85 million, incidences 11.65 million. age-standardized rate (ASPR), incidence (ASIR) DALYs (ASDR) are lower than those developed countries such as Korea, United States America Japan, but higher India. Knee had highest ASPR ASDR. 50–54 years, group patients 95 old. women all groups is that men. From ASIR, ASDR roughly showed an increasing year year. analysis peak longitudinal 1992 80–84 years. We found period 2017–2021. Conclusion will become more serious, target primary female under 50 development a scientific effective comprehensive program imminent.
