ABSTRACT
With the aging global population, older adult atopic dermatitis (AD) is emerging as an increasingly significant health challenge. This study aimed to evaluate burden of AD from 1990 2021 and project its change 2050. The estimates 95% uncertainty intervals prevalence, incidence, disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) attributable among individuals aged over 60 years were extracted Global Burden Diseases (GBD) Study 2021. We used joinpoint regression analysis, decomposition cross-country inequality frontier analysis prediction model epidemiological analysis. From 2021, prevalence increased 11,009,630 cases (95% UI: 9,915,829 12,170,941), even ASRs declined, which primarily driven by population growth. It was observed that females 75-79 old had higher incidence rates. SDI relative exhibited DALYs rates positively correlated with levels, while SDI-related inequalities a decrease. Predictions up 2050 anticipated increasing numbers, only age-standardized life-year (ASDRs) expected decline. varied genders, age groups, regions, countries climatic conditions. Although shown decline time, remained significant, especially in regions high levels. In future, projected continue rising until 2050, thereby targeted interventions public strategies needed address this trend.
