ABSTRACT
Introduction Animal waste proteins have been increasing in the past decade, along with consumer demands. Their huge volume and environmental issues caused by improper treatment probably pose a massive threat to human health. These animal contain many valuable bioactive peptides can be used not only as nutrient substances but also primary functional ingredients industries, including agriculture, food, pharmaceuticals. However, advancement of value-added application within 10 years has elucidated yet. In this regard, paper scrutinized studies on applications hydrolysates from throughout last hoping display whole picture their value-adding applications. Methods The Web Science Google Scholar were searched January 1, 2013, December 12, 2023. This review included field trials, vitro vivo assays, silico analysis based literature surveys or proteolysis simulation. quality was evaluated Journal Citation Reports, rationality discussion included. Results Numerous performed potential agricultural, medicinal industries. Particularly, due nutritional value, safety, especially competitive effects, peptide antioxidant, antimicrobial, antihypertensive, antidiabetic, antithrombotic activities ingredient food Discussion could step towards sustainable by-products management, simultaneously, open new avenues rapid development nutraceuticals further bioavailability structure-activity relationship are required verify therapeutic effects.
