ABSTRACT
Many benefits have been found in supplementing tannins or soybean isoflavones to poultry, including increased body weight gain, antioxidant activity, and better intestinal morphology. However, few studies tested the influence of dandelion supplementation on Wenchang chickens. This study investigates effects dietary with growth performance, function, health female A total 300 chickens were randomly divided into five groups, six replicates per group 10 broilers replicate. The control (Con) fed a basal diet; four experimental groups diet different supplements: mg/kg tannin (DT1), 500 (DT2), isoflavone (SI1), (SI2). experiment lasted 40 days. results showed that final (BW) average daily gain (ADG) higher DT2 SI1 than Con (P < 0.05). In addition, level serum albumin <0.05); concentrations aspartate aminotransferase glucose significantly 0.05) concentration triglycerides DT1 catalase (CAT) was ileum pH value lower jejunum villus height mucosal muscularis thickness 0.05), whereas crypt depth decreased compared messenger RNA (mRNA) expression zonula occludens 1 (ZO-1) duodenum those occludin, ZO-1, claudin-1 upregulated group.
