ABSTRACT
Salmonella enterica is a food-borne pathogen with wide host-range that during decades has been of public health concern in developed and developing countries. In Chile, the poultry pig industries represent biggest contribution meat consumption population, sanitary regulations have imposed for control. The aim this work was to determine characterize strains isolated from pigs chicken raised on commercials farms Chile. For this, isolates belonging (n = 46) 57) were genotyped by two multiplex PCR reactions virulotyped detection virulence-associated genes. addition, serotyped analyzed Kirby Bauer assay their antimicrobial resistance phenotypes. From these analyses 52 genotypes, six serotypes several multidrug phenotypes different combinations genes detected. These results suggest S. central Chile should be monitored due potential consequences animal health.
