ABSTRACT
Transplantation is a lifesaving modality for addressing various organ failures. While kidney transplant services became available in Nepal 2008, the introduction of liver transplantation more recent. The government provides financial assistance to support lifelong dialysis and transplantation. importance equitable access cannot be overemphasized. This study aims examine equity accessing services. retrospective observational encompasses patients who underwent up until December 2022 across five major hospitals. Through standardized data collection analysis, we evaluated distribution recipients based on gender, caste/ethnicity, geographic location. A total 2040 transplantations were performed during period. Notably, 79% men and, interestingly, 70% donors women. Geographically, highest proportion (31.8%) from Bagmati, while lowest (l2.8%) Karnali. Regarding caste ethnicity, Janajatis accounted 31% Chhetris 22.9%; Madhesis at 8.12%. Only 17 conducted same Although exists Nepal, this highlights persistent disparities.
