ABSTRACT
The aim was to determine the suitability of various substrates for application in a closed system soilless tomato cultivation, based on potential fitness drainage waters from these recirculation. Four were used: rockwool, coir substrate, lignite substrate (Carbomat) and biodegradable organic (Biopot). Tomato plants grown fertilized with same amount nutrient solution, containing concentration nutrients. characteristics water analyzed during cultivation. highest collected Carbomat. However, leachates showed good properties further recirculation: low electro conductivity turbidity, high content, moderate microbial load population Trichoderma fungi, being beneficial plant growth. Moreover, Carbomat produced yield compared other substrates. This indicates that this is an efficient alternative rockwool its may be reused recirculation system. On contrary, Biopot worst qualities: pH EC, nitrate nitrogen phosphorus, very turbidity number microorganisms. These parameters do not qualify reuse.
