ABSTRACT
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease that mainly characterized by hyperglycemia. Chalcones and their derivatives have demonstrated promising pharmacological potential for the treatment of diabetes. The aim study was to evaluate antidiabetic activities analyze 4-methoxychalcone (MPP) using GC-MS. compound mass spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance headspace with gas chromatography coupled spectrometry (HS-GC-MS). MPP evaluated via inhibition alpha-glucosidase enzyme, cell viability antiglycation hemolytic in vitro. interaction between bovine serum albumin protein investigated molecular docking. Oral sucrose tolerance oral glucose tests were performed streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic mice. HS-GC-MS method able accurately detect characterize compound, BSA revealed remarkable affinity two main binding sites BSA. This confirmed vitro test, since showed activity through both oxidative non-oxidative stress. significantly attenuated increase glycemia after loading STZ-induced These results confirm has antihyperglycemic may be an alternative diabetes mellitus.
