ABSTRACT
Peripartum depression (PPD) is a major complication of pregnancy, and numerous risk factors have been associated with its onset, including dysfunctional coping strategies insecure attachment styles, both during pregnancy postpartum. The aim our study was to investigate the role in mediating relationship between women's style depressive symptomatology one week after giving birth large sample women (N = 1664). Our hypothesis that anxious avoidant would be mediated by use maladaptive strategies. assessment instruments were Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS), Brief Coping Orientation for Problem Experiences (COPE), Close Relationship (ECR). results indicated effect styles (anxious attachment) on antepartum partially styles. Anxious also has an indirect significant postpartum through emotional coping; however, does not seem significantly related symptoms. findings revealed only it important consider understanding peripartum symptomatology, but plays these relationships. These help preventive coping-based intervention strategy enhance capacity more adaptive pregnancy.
