ABSTRACT
Inflammation is an essential defense mechanism against harmful stimuli. However, uncontrolled inflammatory mechanisms culminate in disturbed responses that contribute to multiple serious diseases. Besides common synthetic drugs, there a growing interest optimizing the use of natural products as therapeutic or protective supplements disorders. Black cumin seed (BCS), Nigella sativa (Family Ranunculaceae), widely used health-supportive herb Middle East, Far East and West Asia. BCS rich source phytochemicals, studies have reported its promising effects variety metabolic, proliferative, respiratory, neurological disorders associated with disrupted pathways. This review presents updated comprehensive assessment BCS’s various highlights role bioactive constituents inflammation oxidative stress Moreover, it outlines future possibilities for enhancing activity through efficient pharmaceutical formulations. Thorough analysis international research published between years 1998 2023 reveals anti-inflammatory potential modulating crucial players Thus, can be further boosted by technologies such nano-incorporation improved management
