ABSTRACT
Most patients presenting in an emergency unit with acute coronary syndromes (ACS) (which include non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI), ST-elevation MI (STEMI), and unstable angina) usually meet at least two cardiovascular risk factors, such as dyslipidemia, arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus type 2, obesity, history of or current smoking, etc. ACS suffer from a addition to this there are rushed into the units for which feeding status is unknown. Thus, we set out evaluate effect fasting on 16 blood metabolite concentrations 114 lipoprotein parameters one control group statin-treated hospitalized unit, using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. The results indicated trends (in terms number cases, but not necessarily magnitude effect) many four metabolites 48 lipoproteins. was defined trend showing over 70% cases either both groups that experienced parameter changes same direction (i.e., increased decreased). In magnitude, rather low, leading overall conclusion (CV) units, samples analyzed any would provide close very valuable information regarding prognosis fast decisions patient's proper management.
