ABSTRACT
Quality Control (QC) and Assurance (QA) principles are essential for effective cervical cancer prevention. Being a crucial diagnostic step, colposcopy’s sensitivity specificity improvements strongly advocated worldwide since inter- intra-observer differences the main limiting factors. The objective of present study was evaluation colposcopy accuracy through results QC/QA assessment from survey in Italian tertiary-level academic teaching hospitals. A web-based, user-friendly platform based on 100 colposcopic digital images forwarded to colposcopists with different levels experience. Seventy-three participants were asked identify patterns, provide personal impressions, indicate correct clinical practice. data correlated panel experts’ clinical/pathological cases. Overall threshold CIN2+ accounted 73.7% 87.7%, respectively, minor between senior junior candidates. Identification interpretation patterns showed full agreement panel, ranging 50% 82%, some instances better colposcopists. Colposcopic impressions 20% underestimation lesions, no linked level Our demonstrate good performance need improving QC assessments adhesion standard requirements recommendations.
