ABSTRACT
The railway transport system is critical infrastructure that exposed to numerous man-made and natural threats, thus protecting this physical asset imperative. Cyber security, privacy, dependability (SPD) are also important, as the operation relies on cyber-physical systems (CPS) systems. This work presents SPD-Safe—an administration framework for CPS, leveraging artificial intelligence monitoring managing in real-time. network layer protections integrated provide core security properties of confidentiality, integrity, authentication, along with energy-aware secure routing authorization. effectiveness mitigating attacks efficiency under normal assessed through simulations average delay real equipment being 0.2–0.6 s. SPD metrics incorporated together safety semantics application environment. Considering an intelligent transportation scenario, SPD-Safe deployed infrastructure, safeguarding one outdoor setting railway’s tracks in-carriage a freight train contains dangerous cargo. As demonstrated, provides higher scalability, while enhancing response procedures. Nonetheless, emergence operations require seamless interoperation emergency authorities’ (e.g., drones). Therefore, integration external considered future work.
