ABSTRACT
The second-harmonic input impedance plays a critical role on the performance of GaN power amplifiers. In recent paper, drain efficiency enhancement for continuous-mode amplifiers was reported to be achieved using active broadband injection at PA input. this strategy selecting and necessity in such PAs are discussed detail. Additionally, methodology designing an embedded diplexer matching network is reported. Finally, importance phase signal injected demonstrated both CW modulated signals simulation measurement, respectively. effectiveness presented here validated by previously measurements that average improvement 9.4% from 1.3 2.4 GHz 9.7% 2 frequency-modulated 30 MHz chirp radar signal.
