ABSTRACT
Research studies show that serious games can increase patient motivation regardless of age or illness and be an affordable promising solution with respect to conventional physiotherapy. In this paper, we present the latest evolution our system for shoulder rehabilitation based on hand-finger tracking projected augmented reality. This version integrates metrics assess performance, monitors game progress, allows selection visualization mode (standard on-screen reality). Additionally, new software tracks velocity, acceleration, normalized jerk arm-hand movements user. Specifically, sixteen healthy volunteers (eight technical eight experts) tested current prototype. The results showed is engaging, its design ergonomically sound, overall could a useful tool in rehabilitation. However, clinical validation needed has same effects as selected therapy. preliminary step toward laying foundation future investigate abnormalities by using tracking.
