ABSTRACT
A novel and compact dual-polarized (DP) chipless radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag is presented in this paper. This can read both vertical horizontal orientations within its frequency band, which improves the robustness detection capability of RFID system. The proposed makes use slot length variation encoding technique to improve capacity. duplicate capacity, thereby reducing overall size by almost 50%. In particular, has an capacity 20 bits 3–8 GHz band achieves data density around 15.15 bits/cm2. Three prototypes are fabricated tested outside anechoic chamber. Furthermore, one at different distances (10 cm, 30 60 cm) from reader measured results compared. simulated reasonable agreement, with acceptable shifts some frequencies due fabrication experimental errors.
