ABSTRACT
A thermal energy storage system is a critical component in concentrating solar power plants (CSPP), owing to which (CSP) has superiorities over photovoltaic and wind power. Currently, the sole (TES) commercially applied parabolic trough (PTSP) worldwide two-tank indirect TES. In this study, dynamic models of field (SF), TES system, steam generation (SGS) PTSP plant were developed validated. Control operation strategies on clear day cloudy provided, simulations coupled using actual meteorological data conducted. The influence characteristics SGS level was analyzed. Other key parameter variations also presented. results show that during transition from charge discharge process, parameters slowly decrease. variation molten salt height further affected by mass flow rate at inlet outlet tank. We adopted PI control adjust oil rate, temperature, water height. are useful guiding control.
