ABSTRACT
This study reports on a novel technique to enhance the high cell mass and viable counts of heterofermentative probiotic strain, Limosilactobacillus reuteri. is first report cultivation L. reuteri, which was incorporated with weak base anion-exchange resins remove accumulating lactic acid in fermentation broth. Two resins—Amberlite IRA 67 96—were found have adsorption capacity acid. Batch fed-batch were further analyzed using resins, as this application resulted higher maximum number cells. The situ create shear stress, thus, it does not promote growth reuteri; therefore, an external integrated resin column system proposed. count from batch fermentation, when column, improved by 71 times (3.89 × 1011 ± 0.07 CFU mL−1) compared control (5.35 109 0.32 mL−1), without addition resins. improvement achieved due rate acid, recorded system, coupled stirred tank bioreactor process.
