ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to cover biopolymeric packaging films based on PLA/PHBV blend with a functional composite coating (to retain their ecological character) and investigate antimicrobial properties before after UV irradiation. As an active coating, the carrier hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC), as well its modified form Achillea millefolium L., Hippophae rhamnoides Hypericum L. extract (E) combined system extracts nano-ZnO (EZ), used obtain formulations. Additionally, film surface morphology (SEM, FTIR-ATR) color (CIELab scale) analysis pre- post-UV-treatment samples were performed. results confirmed that E EZ-modified exhibited antibacterial properties, but they not effective against phage phi6. Q-SUN irradiation led decrease in activity Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas syringae, Candida albicans. In case, effectiveness EZ C. albicans at 24 h 72 decreased. However, boosted antiviral layer. SEM micrographs showed treatment did significantly influence native morphology, it had impact coated film. FTIR coatings HPMC altered IR absorption nonpolar groups biopolyester material. applied only marginally affected changes increased yellowness irradiation, whereas layer limited these changes.
