ABSTRACT
Polyamines are aliphatic hydrocarbons with terminal amino groups and essential for biological activities. It has been reported that polyamines have health-promoting effects in animals, such as the extension of lifespan by polyamine intake. The identification a high polyamine-producing bacterium from foods could lead to development novel probiotic candidate. We aimed identify bacteria food, isolated collected vegetables fermented produced Japan. successfully acquired Latilactobacillus curvatus KP 3-4 Kabura-zushi putrescine producing lactic acid bacteria. Comparing synthesis capability L. typical strains available Japan Collection Microorganisms, it was found only capable exporting levels into culture supernatant. enhancement production addition ornithine, whole-genome analysis 3-4, suggest is synthesized via ornithine decarboxylase. administration germ-free mice increased concentration feces.
