ABSTRACT
The present study aimed at investigating the evolution of pigs’ fecal microbiota composition from post-weaning to finishing in a longitudinal analysis. experiment was conducted on 160 Pietrain × (Large White Landrace) castrated male and female pigs two replicates. Feces were collected 52, 99, 119, 140, 154 days age for further 16S rRNA sequencing analyze composition. Pig evolved strongly 52 99 with an increased abundance Streptococcaceae decreased Lactobacillaceae. During stage, kept evolving slower rate. To link community structure performances, samples clustered into enterotypes sharing similar bacterial At days, dominated either by Lactobacillus or Prevotella–Sarcina identified. They differed determined which Turicibacter–Clostridium sensu stricto. this time period, 75% switched enterotypes. not related differences overall growth feeding performance. enterotype definition time-dependent seemed be sex type age.
