ABSTRACT
High-quality factor dielectric microcavities like whispering-gallery-mode resonators can be widely applied in fields such as laser, optical sensor, switch, and filter. We propose the double-disk cavity comprising disks apart along face of disk. The electric field each disk with opposite phases was excited; emitted radiation annihilated by destructive interference. numerically achieved a 5.67-fold enhancement quality at radius, thickness, gap distance 850 nm, 220 respectively, compared to single same structural conditions.
