ABSTRACT
Increasing demand for simplification of frequently used products promotes innovation with simple mechanisms. In this study, an attempt is made by amalgamating FMEA, QFD, TRIZ, LCA, and fuzzy TOPSIS the development sustainable products. The methodology executed to redesign a pressure relief valve (PRV) in economic, sustainable, innovative manner. failure modes PRV are considered FMEA ranked their RPN. environmental voice customer imbibed ECQFD correlate engineering specifications obtain critical zones improvement. Possible innovations existing design based on option selected from analyzing feature contradictions, solutions addressed using TRIZ matrix. Four CAD models improved designs were created subjected sustainability analysis fatigue life analysis. redesigns evaluated TOPSIS, MCDM approach, unbiased ranking multiple criteria supported result expert opinions. final was prototyping. This approach provides holistic product simplified product.
