ABSTRACT
Secretion of extracellular vesicles is a general cellular activity that spans the range from simple unicellular organisms (e.g. archaea; Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria) to complex multicellular ones, suggesting this vesicle-mediated communication evolutionarily conserved. Extracellular are spherical bilayered proteolipids with mean diameter 20-1,000 nm, which known contain various bioactive molecules including proteins, lipids, nucleic acids. Here, we present EVpedia, an integrated database high-throughput datasets prokaryotic eukaryotic vesicles. EVpedia provides vesicular components (proteins, mRNAs, miRNAs, lipids) on prokaryotic, non-mammalian eukaryotic, mammalian In addition, also array tools, such as search browse components, Gene Ontology enrichment analysis, network analysis proteins comparison by ortholog identification. Moreover, publications vesicle studies listed in database. This free web-based (http://evpedia.info) might serve fundamental repository stimulate advancement elucidate novel functions these organelles.
