ABSTRACT
Earth Map ( https://earthmap.org/ ) is an innovative and free application developed by the Food Agriculture Organization of United Nations that was designed in framework Nations–Google partnership facilitates visualization, processing, analysis land climate data. makes petabytes multitemporal, multiscale, multiparametric, quasi-real-time satellite imagery geospatial datasets available to any user thanks power Google Engine https://earthengine.google.com/ a point-and-click graphical interface. These are further complemented with more planetary-scale analytical capabilities so global local changes trends on Earth’s surface can be easily detected, quantified, visualized. It does not require users master coding techniques, thereby avoiding bottlenecks terms technical capacities nonexpert users. ultimately paves way for countries, research institutes, farmers, members general public access critical knowledge develop science-based policy interventions, leverage investments, sustain livelihoods. We provide full overview Map’s software architecture, design, features, datasets. To illustrate possible applications tool, different examples presented including few case studies show how quick historical environmental parameters performed questions answered. The demonstrate comprehensive user-friendly tool monitoring assessment it has potential used assess use, use change, change impacts, natural disasters.
