ABSTRACT
The battle against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) still continues three years after the onset of pandemic, but there are concerns about next emerging infectious disease. This study reports practices during initial response to COVID-19 on cruise ship Diamond Princess and lessons learned from a nursing perspective. During these practices, one authors dealt with sample collection team Self-Defense Forces collaborated Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT), Psychiatric (DPAT), other teams. They mentioned passengers' state distress fatigue personnel assisting them. revealed specifics diseases their commonalities, regardless disaster. Results identified crucial points: i) predicting impact lifestyle changes health due isolation implementing preventive measures, ii) protecting individual human rights dignity even in emergencies, iii) support for providing assistance.
