Comparison of Intravenous Co-amoxiclav and Benzyl Penicillin in Children with Severe Streptococcal Tonsillitis

ABSTRACT
Background: Streptococcal tonsillitis is a common pediatric ailment which faced by physicians on daily basis and associated with disastrous complications if not treated adequately. The objective of this study was to compare the efficacy, safety cost-effectiveness intravenous co-amoxiclav benzyl penicillin in treatment severe streptococcal children.
 Material Methods: This Randomized Controlled Trial carried out at CMH Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from January 2018 November 2019. A total 310 children tonsillitis, aged between 5 15 years were selected outpatient department Combined Military Hospital Mardan. cases divided into two groups. Injection given patients Group (n=155) injection administered B (n=155). Both groups compared terms effectiveness treatment, cost effectiveness. All data assessed help SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) version 21. Chi square independent T test used P-value < 0.05 taken as statistically significant.
 Results: There 155 each group. Mean age 9.35 ± 3.17 B, 9.96 2.96 years, respectively.
