ABSTRACT
Introduction: The observed efficacy of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in patients with trigeminal neuralgia (TN) ranged from 42.2% to 97.2% at 2 15 years' follow-up. temperature used varied 60°C 95°C, nonsignificant differences for durations min or more. Here we compare the analgesic 60°C, 65°C and 70°C a single 90-sec duration. Methodology: study was conducted 100 (57 females, 43 males), Dr Kariadi Hospital Semarang, using Leeds Assessment Neuropathic Symptoms Signs Scale (LANSS) neuralgia. They were divided into control three RFA groups, e.g., 65°C, 70°C. Carbamazepine 100-200 mg every 8-12 hours vitamin B12 50 µg 12 hours, administered group. While applied groups by placing electrode needle as close target branch(es) prescribed temperatures 90 sec Follow-up done pre-intervention, weeks, 3 months 6 months. Results: All one hundred included showed significant improvement pain (P < 0.001). compared group 0.05). Comparison not = 0.083) 3- 6-months follow-up, but it between significant. Conclusions: has similar results treatment may cause less tissue damage. Needle placement nearest affected more important than procedures.
