ABSTRACT
The text is part of a research that aimed to study pedagogical proposal developed and carried out with high school students from the theoretical perspective Critical Statistical Literacy. Evidence was sought contributions this theory could bring teaching learning statistics. methodological technique used participant observation, which news published on social media about violence against women. Data collection using three instruments: video recording class; teacher's logbook; videos created as final task by students. analysis indicates adopted use real data in statistics classes contribute development criticality issues statistical literacy. Thus, it became possible offer conditions for implementing what partially proposed curricular documents guiding Brazilian education.
