Actividad física y estrés académico en estudiantes de una universidad privada en la región Lambayeque, Perú

ABSTRACT
Objective. To determine the relationship between physical activity and the level of academic stress in the faculties of Human Medicine and Administrative Sciences and Human Resources of the tenth cycle of the Universidad de San Martín de Porres, filial norte, 2021. Material and Methods: A quantitative, correlational, cross-sectional study with a population of 116 students of the tenth cycle, a sample of 83 students was selected, 57 students of Medicine and 26 students of Administration of the second period 2021-II. The International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) for physical activity and the SISCO SV-21 questionnaire for academic stress were applied. Results: 65.4% of the students of the faculty of Administrative Sciences and Human resources presented moderate stress and 56.1% of the medical students had severe stress, finding differences of stress according to faculty (p=0.045%), difference of stress generating situation was found in the personality and character of the professors (p=0, 020), there was no difference in the physical activity in the students of the faculty of Administrative Sciences and Human Resources, in both there was a predominance of moderate physical activity (38.5% and 38.6%), it was shown that as the level of physical activity increases, the level of severe stress decreases, however; no significant relationship was found (p=0.480). Conclusion: There is no relationship between the levels of stress and physical activity in the students of Human Medicine of the tenth cycle and Administrative Sciences of the tenth cycle of the Universidad de San Martín de Porres, filial norte, 2021.
